Vending company recalls sandwiches because of undeclared sesame

Sheehan Brothers Vending is recalling a variety of its sandwiches because of an undeclared sesame allergen.

This recall has been initiated because the ingredient labels do not state sesame, which is a known allergen. All products are individually wrapped in plastic.

Products included in the recall are: cheeseburgers, spicy chicken sandwiches, Italian mini subs, pepperoni pizza subs, chili cheese coney and BBQ riblets with coleslaw. To view photos of all of the recalled sandwiches, please click here.

The products were available from July 2 through July 8 through Micro Markets and Vending Machine locations throughout all of Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Eastern Indiana.

The issue was discovered during a routine inspection conducted by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. As of the posting of the recall notice, there have been no reports of illnesses involving the products.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sesame run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. Individuals exhibiting signs or symptoms of foodborne illness or allergies should contact a physician immediately.
