Campylobacter, Salmonella, and Listeria are the main contributors to the foodborne disease burden in Sweden, but many cases are not reported, according to a study.
Researchers estimated the national foodborne burden from 2013 to 2022 and explored links to sources and climate factors. They identified over 1.2 million cases, most unreported, corresponding to 37,665 disability-adjusted life years (DALYs).
