Pasta Garofalo, a leading name in authentic Italian pasta for over two centuries, announced the launch of its new brand campaign: “Real Italian Carbs,” an invitation to Americans to rediscover pasta the way it’s truly meant to be — wholesome, authentic, and the same as what you’d eat in Italy.
Whether you’re enjoying a plate of Garofalo in Naples or New York, the pasta is identical because it all comes from one single production site: Gragnano, the birthplace of pasta. There, nestled between the Lattari mountains and the Amalfi Coast, Pasta Garofalo has crafted uncompromisingly high-quality pasta since 1789.
“There’s a widespread myth in the U.S. that pasta feels ‘different’ here, that it causes bloating or discomfort, unlike in Italy,” says Anita Menna, Brand Manager of Pasta Garofalo. “The truth? If you’re eating Garofalo, it’s the same pasta, no matter where in the world you are. No hidden changes, no adjustments for foreign markets, just real Italian carbs, made in Italy, always.”
To debunk this myth and bring the message to life, Garofalo recently launched the campaign at the SFA Summer Fancy Food Show in New York and drove straight into the city’s heart with an eye-catching spontaneous activation: a see-through food truck branded “Real Italian Carbs,” featuring a real Italian family, imported from Italy, sharing a pasta meal inside. From June 28 to 30, the truck cruised through NYC, stopping at key locations and offering giveaways, as well as snapshots of Italy’s warm, carb-loving culture.
As part of the campaign, Garofalo is also introducing a refreshed packaging design that puts transparency front and center, just like its production values. Boldly labeled with “Real Italian Carbs,” the new look is a proud signal to American consumers – this is the real deal.
