The health risk posed by meat processed by a company under investigation in the Netherlands is “negligible,” according to an assessment.
The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) asked the Office of Risk Assessment and Research (BuRO) to assess potential microbial risks from the activities of a meat processor suspected of fraud.
A criminal investigation is being led by the National Office for Serious Fraud, Environmental Crime and Asset Confiscation (Functioneel Parket). After the company’s accreditation was revoked, it filed for bankruptcy.
