MegaMex Foods, LLC, of Orange, CA, is recalling 501 cases of its La Victoria Cilantro Salsa, Medium, because it may contain wood pieces from a recalled ingredient, fresh cilantro.
The recall, initiated on April 14, 2025, has not yet been classified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) but remains ongoing. The issue was identified after the firm determined the salsa was potentially manufactured with contaminated cilantro.
The recalled products were distributed to nine consignees in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Michigan.

As of the posting of this recall, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported in connection with this issue. However, the FDA is concerned that some products may still be in consumers’ pantries.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled La Victoria Cilantro Salsa are urged not to consume it. The product should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.

The presence of wood pieces in food products poses risks such as choking, oral injury, or gastrointestinal damage if ingested. Consumers experiencing adverse effects after consuming the product should seek medical attention promptly.
