Madeline’s Pâtisserie recalls croissants and croissant buns for undeclared wheat

Element 112, LLC dba Madeline’s Pâtisserie, of Sylvania, OH, is recalling specific batches of its Croissants and Croissant Buns because of undeclared wheat, a known allergen, resulting from a labeling error. 

The ingredient statement on the product packaging incorrectly lists “flour” instead of “wheat.”

The recall, initiated on May 15, is classified as a Class II recall, indicating a low risk of serious health consequences, though temporary or reversible effects may occur. The recall remains ongoing, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recalled products were distributed to food service distributors in Michigan and Ohio, including Superior Food Distributors in Grand Rapids, MI; Carmela Food Distributor in Fraser, MI; Euclid Fish Company in Mentor, OH; and Atlantic Food Distributors in Canton, OH.

Recalled Products:

All products are fully baked, frozen, and packaged in 24-unit food service cases. Affected products were produced between March 10, 2025, and May 7, 2025.

As of the posting of this recall, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported in connection with these products.

Consumers and distributors who have purchased or received the recalled Croissants or Croissant Buns are urged not to consume or distribute them. The products should be removed from sale or inventory and either discarded or returned to Madeline’s Pâtisserie for replacement with correctly labeled products.
