Cereulide contamination in infant formula and a fatal Listeria outbreak have been flagged as the major incidents in Europe in 2025.
The European Commission’s annual report on official controls in the food chain covers the Alert and Cooperation Network (ACN), which is the EU-wide system through which the EU Commission and member states share alerts and notifications of non-compliance, as well as investigating issues.
