The International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) just announced its 2025 IACP Award finalists, recognizing the best food media of the year — from cookbooks to journalism to photography and digital media. With four nominations, Eater was recognized in three categories: Narrative Food Writing Without Recipes, Personal Essays/Memoir Writing, and Culinary Video Series.
Former correspondent Jaya Saxena was recognized for her feature story, “The Food That Makes You Gay,” in the Narrative Food Writing Without Recipes category (which was also nominated for a James Beard Award this year) and her “Martha Stewart’s ‘Entertaining’ Let Me Party Like It Was 1982” piece in the Personal Essay/Memoir Writing category. “Grief, Solidarity, and Molokhia,” by Eater Chicago contributor Nylah Iqbal Muhammad, was also nominated in the Narrative Food Writing Without Recipes category and was a James Beard Award nominee this year.
The Eater Video team was recognized for the Mise en Place video series with a nomination in the Culinary Video Series category. An episode featuring restaurateur Simon Kim and chef SK Kim of Korean fried chicken restaurant Coqodaq was also honored with a 2025 New York Emmy Awards nomination.
Winners will be announced during the IACP Awards & Summit in Brooklyn on November 5. Find the full list of 2025 nominees on the IACP website.
