SIAL China (held May 19-21 in Shanghai) has emerged in the last years as the leading trade event for the food and beverage sector in Asia, and one of the most significant globally. Held annually in Shanghai, the fair is widely regarded as a critical entry point for international businesses seeking to tap into China’s vast consumer market and the wider region.
Now the fourth-largest food and beverage trade show in the world—and the largest in Asia—SIAL China plays a central role in shaping industry trends and facilitating global trade partnerships.

Once again this year, among the main organizers of the fair that attracted thousands of visitors to Shanghai was Universal Marketing, which acts as the exclusive Italian agent for the SIAL Network. They represent the SIAL exhibitions worldwide, helping Italian companies participate in and benefit from the SIAL events. The CEO of Universal Marketing, Donato Cinelli, has stated that they are “proud to offer this opportunity to Italian companies”.
While China’s economic outlook still presents challenges, demand for imported food remains robust. Younger Chinese consumers are increasingly drawn to premium international products that offer both quality and provenance.
