A second person in Washington has died from complications from the bird flu.
The victim was a Yakima County resident who was exposed to avian flu at a dairy with infected cattle. The person died on Nov. 1. Another person in Washington died from bird flu in November 2025. That person was also exposed at a dairy farm. A third person has been infected in Washington, but recovered from the infection.
