More than 100 cases and one death from a serious condition that can develop after an E. coli infection were recorded in 2025 in France.
A total of 109 cases of pediatric hemolytic uremic syndrome were reported to Santé publique France, compared to 87 cases in 2024 and 143 in 2023. At 54 percent, females were slightly more affected than males.
