A bill introduced in recent days in the U.S. Senate would overhaul food labels for the first time in more than 30 years.
The bill, the Food Labeling Modernization Act of 2026, was introduced by Senators Richard Blumenthal, D-CT, and Cory Booker, D-NJ, and is designed to provide the information consumers need to make healthy food choices, according to the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI).
