Italy Leads International Presence at Foodex Japan 2026

Italy has once again confirmed its leading role among international exhibitors at Foodex Japan 2026, the largest and most influential food and beverage exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region, currently taking place at Tokyo Big Sight.

The Italian Trade Agency (ICE-ITA) officially inaugurated the Italian Pavilion today, marking the beginning of a week dedicated to promoting the diversity and quality of Italy’s agri-food sector in one of the world’s most sophisticated food markets.

With around 250 Italian companies present, Italy once again represents the largest foreign participation at the fair. In an official statement, ITA highlighted that this presence “confirms the extraordinary vitality of our agri-food sector and the strong appreciation for Italian quality and authenticity in the Japanese market.”

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mario Vattani, Ambassador of Italy to Japan, and Matteo Zoppas, President of ICE-ITA, alongside representatives of Italian institutions, regional authorities, and major organizations from the national agri-food system.

A SHOWCASE OF ITALY’S FOOD EXCELLENCE

Organized by the Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Pavilion hosts nearly 190 companies across 3,500 square meters, presenting a wide range of Italy’s food and beverage excellence.

Exhibitors span key segments of the Italian food industry, from wine and olive oil to pasta, cheese, coffee, gelato, and traditional Italian pastry, offering international buyers and industry professionals a comprehensive overview of the country’s culinary heritage.

Throughout the week, the pavilion will host tastings, cooking demonstrations, and professional seminars, designed to highlight the authenticity, craftsmanship, and sustainability that define Italian food culture.

Japan is widely considered one of the world’s most sophisticated food markets, with consumers and professionals placing strong emphasis on quality, origin, and culinary tradition.
