ITA Sydney Celebrates UNESCO Recognition of Italian Cuisine

To celebrate the inclusion of Italian Cuisine in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA)Sydney is looking back at an extraordinary evening that blended culture, history, and gastronomy. In November, 2025, on the occasion of the 10th edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, ITA Sydney welcomed over 130 guests to a journey into the heart of the Mediterranean. The event, titled “Il Gattopardo Gala Night,” drew inspiration from Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa’s literary masterpiece Il Gattopardo and transcended the traditional gala dinner format.

More than a dining experience, the evening unfolded as an immersive tribute to the history, evocative aromas, and timeless elegance of 19th-century Sicily, offering guests a sensory narrative rooted in Italy’s cultural heritage.

ITA Sydney extended a heartfelt thank you to its sponsors, speakers, partners, and all guests who contributed to the event’s success, underscoring the collaborative spirit behind this celebration of Italian excellence.

The gala stood as a fitting homage to Italian Cuisine’s global recognition—affirming its enduring influence and the power of food as a cultural expression that connects tradition, territory, and innovation.
