Food recalls in Europe and the United Kingdom have gone up again, according to the latest data from Sedgwick’s European Product Safety and Recall Index.
In the third quarter of 2025 (Q3) recalls in the food and drink sector went up by 6 percent.
Regulators in the EU and UK reported 1,352 food and beverage product recalls from July to September. This is up from 1,276 from April to June and 1,242 in Q1 2025.
So far this year, there have been 3,870 recalls. This is down from the 3,974 recorded in the same period in 2024.
